Requesting a Donation

Although we are mainly a social group meeting twice a month, an important part of what we do in Round Table is our fundraising and charitable activities. In Shirley, we have two main fundraising events every year - Solihull Carnival and Santa's Sleigh.

In 2010 these events raised a total of around £8431.

We are a registered charity (1052874). The majority of the money we raise is donated in and around Shirley. We concentrate on local good causes as opposed to large national charities which have teams to raise their own funds.

How to request a donation

If you wish for a donation to be considered, please use our contact facility in the first instance. Please provide as much information as you can, including the following -

  • the amount you are requesting from Shirley Round Table
  • the purpose to which it will be put
  • if part of a larger fundraising activity, the total amount you are trying to raise.
  • any other fund raising activities / donation requests that are being undertaken and whether any money has been raised to date
  • any time constraints that a donation is required to meet.

We will consider all requests at one of our business meetings during the year so please try to allow as much time as possible when submitting requests.

If you are a young person looking to apply for a travel grant because you are planning to undertake voluntary work overseas, then we won't be able to help you directly. However, have a look at the RT Trust information and, if your eligible, then get in touch.
